Habits!
Getting into habits is generally healthy for people to do, and with each habit that you build up, the easier it is to maintain
a stable life. For this reason I have a list of habits I keep up, organized as "Dailies" like a gacha game... or "Weeklies"... also
like a gacha game...
Dailies
-
My morning "Coffee" is 80% milk and some type of normal coffee. The whole point is to have something to help you wake up
without having a caffeine crash in ~four hours since. The milk is a nice bonus. Whole milk is preferred.
-
Do your daily chess puzzles. I do this since people typically have their daily "wordle"
or Sudoku puzzles they do. I choose chess puzzles since it's relatively quick to do the three they provide. The added bonus is that
it also makes you better at the game, so if someone decide to ad-hoc play you then you've got some hidden practice up your sleeve.
-
Always pray before bed and never pray for yourself. I recommend this even to people who are not religious, since
the habit of thinking about things that you are appreciative about, and things that you hope for in other peoples lives
helps make you a more appreciative and empathetic person.
Weeklies
-
I draw at least one picture per week.
-
I perform some type of intensive exercise for one hour at least five days in the week.
-
I always wake up at a set time six days out of the week. The one day I do not wake up at a set time (typically Saturday) is
meant for catching up on sleep since I struggle to fall asleep most days of the week and end up "falling behind". Though in all
honesty, that one break day is likely contributing to my inability to fall asleep during the rest of the week...
Miscellaneous
-
I keep my phone in greyscale.
-
My electronics backgrounds I use are in black, or something else that is not distracting.
-
I do not use "browsing" social media, like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
-
I sometimes refrain from doing a google search and instead ask someone knowledgeable a question. This is because
we live in an increasingly abstract society and it is very easy to become distant from those you haven't talked to
in a while. Doing this helps you indirectly keep in touch with them. Plus, sometimes it's just nice to talk to people.
